Rural Community Challenges and Technology Use Webinar

Sep 29, 2020 | Events

Internet access is not a luxury, it’s a necessity: Rural communities speak about challenges and technology use during COVID-19.

The RHE-SETS team conducted an online survey in summer 2020 to gather information about the challenges rural living people are facing during COVID-19 and how technology is being used. In total, 279 (72% female) community members (88% from rural communities in the Interior Health region) completed the online survey. Although the majority of participants reported internet was available, issues with quality and connectivity were the most frequently described challenges.

In partnership with the Centre for Healthy Living and Chronic Disease prevention, the RHE-SETS team will be holding a webinar to present these survey results on Thursday November 5, 9:30-10:30 PST

Presenters: Dr Kathy Rush and Dr Eric Li
