Rural Health Equity
through Social Enterprise
and Technology Synergies
(RHE-SETS)
RHE-SETS has evolved and expanded. Although no longer a funded research excellence cluster, our team of researchers is still working together on a variety of different projects. Rural is still an important part of many projects, but others are not rural-specific. Check out the projects and news pages for more information about current and past projects and activities.
Health [in]Equity: Health inequities are systematic differences in health that are caused by the unfair distribution of resources, wealth, and power in society.
Social Enterprise: A social enterprise is an organization with social objectives. Social enterprises generate revenue but re-invest any extra for community benefit.
Technology Synergies: Digital health technologies are revolutionizing health and health/social care and open new possibilities for reducing inequities. Combining technology WITH social enterprise (aka synergies), can create sustainable effects greater than the sum of their separate effects.
